I like the idea of using various people to dance and mime the lyrics of the song within a music video and I want to include something similar to this in my own. I think this video is really effective because by using all these different people to act in the video it makes it interesting and fun while the fast paced editing keeps it stimulating. Additionally no specific location is used yet the music video is still successful and this demonstrates how it is the people that really create a video, rather than a location and this is one of the reasons I want to focus more on the artist and actors within my video rather than the location. I also really like this shot used, I think it’s interesting, quite quirky yet simple and I would like to incorporate a similar shot in my own video:
I like this idea for a music video because it’s simple yet effective. The video utilises regular objects such as the lamps in order to create a fun and carefree ‘feel’ which not only coincides with the general theme of the song and its lyrics but I feel the simplistic nature of the video allows the audience to connect more to it. For my own video I also want to instil a similar kind of ‘feel’, specifically as one of the main themes of my video is simplicity, directly linking to the lyrics. Therefore I want to make full use of fun props such as bubbles and balloons, which will give the video an element of enjoyment while alike to the artist in this video I want the people featuring in mine to wear casual clothes in order for the audience to feel as if they can relate to the music video as a whole. The video also spells out specific words in time with when they are said in the song, this is an idea I would like to replicate in my own video by using various objects however mostly by using signs. Additionally the video uses a range of different shots, from extreme close up to mid shots and I think this is effective in terms of making the video visually intriguing and this is something I would like to do.
I like the idea of using signs to communicate with the audiences like in this video, for my own I want to use a variety of signs which state what the actors/ actresses find simply wonderful and such an idea was inspired by videos such as this. I think by using signs it enables a music video to get across the overall message more effectively and thus makes the meaning of the video clearer while it enforces the meaning of the lyrics and how these tie in with both the artist and song.
Effective Music Videos-
The whole video includes moving images constructed out of dice. I think this is a really unique idea for a music video and visually it’s really interesting while the fast pace of the moving images make it engrossing. It’s imaginative and different and therefore this makes it a successful product which attracts audiences however in practice I couldn’t create something like this for my own video.
This is another unique idea which visually involves the audience and is really interesting. Throughout extreme close ups are used in order to convey a feeling of intensity and emotion, this is further reinforced by the overall meaning of the song and the detached, sad performance of the artist. Not only does using the eye and the artists performing within in it look impressive but it symbolically adds to the sentiment behind the song.
This video is both original and entertaining. I think the carefree elements of it as well as its overall simplistic style make it humorous and allow the audience to connect to it more as a product. For my own video I would like to also include dance routine, I think they are successful in keeping the audiences attentions as well as making a video, such as this, enjoyable and fun.
The following is my design inspirations for both my music video and digipack-
I love how this artist’s videos create an almost ‘retro’ nostalgic feel for audiences and when considering my own music video I would like to create a similar feel in terms of enforcing the theme of simplicity within the video. Additionally after researching into her products and several of her music videos they all adopt similar consistent styles and I think this is really effective and is something I will use in terms of trying to link in my music video with my digipack and music advert.
